A video has emerged showing how Nigerian troops advanced in the strong hold of the Boko Haram insurgents in the Sambisa forest.

The clip which was shared by the London chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC), shows how troops with superior fire power faced little resistance from the terrorists while they marched into the Boko Haram strong hold.

The offensive to liberate Sambisa Forest from the insurgents began about a month ago, according to military sources.

During the operation, the army deployed 4,200 troops to Sambisa Forest through various fronts, including Ngurosoye, Konduga/Aulari, Bama, Fulka and Damboa.

Meanwhile, the Nigerian army has arrested a white man among Boko Haram insurgents in the Sambisa forest.

According to the Nigerian Television Authority (NTA), a soldier, who took part in the operation that liberated Sambisa forest said the foreigner whose nationality has not been disclosed, was arrested inside the terrorists' stronghold on Thursday, December 22, when troops cleared Boko Haram insurgents out of their last fortress.
