The agenda of the meeting was not made public but there are speculations that it may be in connection to the probe the AGF was directed to carry out on top government officials accused of corruption.

Recall that in December, Buhari ordered the AGF to investigate corruption allegations leveled against some top government officials.

A statement by the senior special assistant on media and publicity Garba Shehu said any of the government officials found guilty of the allegations levelled against them would not escape prosecution.

Though no names were mentioned, the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Babachir Lawal, and the acting chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission have both been accused of corrupt practices.

Babachir had been accused of complicity in the diversion of the north-east humanitarian funds.
