- Governor Nyesom Wike of Rivers state has hit hard at the ruling All Progressives Congress and the government of Muhammadu Buhari again
- Wike believes that the ruling party and its government has failed to bring Nigerians out of their economic woes as promised in 2015
Governor Nyesom Wike of Rivers state has mocked the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) and the government of Muhammadu Buhari saying Nigeria would have been better if the two channeled its energy on improving the living conditions of the people instead of fighting perceived enemies.
It is almost two years into the government of the APC and Nigerians have had reasons to complain about harsh economic conditions and Wike said while his government is busy delivering the dividends of democracy, the APC leadership is doing all within its powers to run down Rivers state.
Leadership reports that Wike spoke at the commissioning of the Rumunduru-Eneka link road in Obio/Akpor local government area of Rivers state where he said: “While they are busy dismissing policemen, I am busy doing projects.
“If they owe Nigerians nothing, I owe my people projects. Instead of them to help us make Rivers state better, they are plotting on how to commit evil. My business this year is to deliver projects.”
Noting that his administration is on course, he alleged that the national leadership of APC was conniving with its foot soldiers in Rivers state to bring down the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and weaken it before 2019.
He said the plans of the ruling party would fail adding: “You gave me your votes, so I will not give you excuses. That is why I am executing pro-people projects.”
