Abuja court makes alternative entry arrangement for Nnamdi Kanu's family, supporters

The Federal High Court in Abuja on Thursday, January 12, made an alternative arrangement for family members and relatives of the leader of Indigenous People Of Biafra Nnamdi Kanu.

At the gate of the court, security operatives asked that all family members and relatives of the defendants in the matter queue up before they can be allowed into the court premises.

The relatives were also expected to be identified by Prince Kanu, the IPOB's brother.

At the last session on Tuesday, January 10, family members of the IPOB leader were shut out of the court premises.

Journalists were also shut out by security operatives.

But the trial judge Binta Nyako at the session ordered that at least four family members of each defendant be allowed access into the court.

Nyako had also warned security operatives not to bring the accused persons into the courtroom in handcuffs.

Kanu, David Nwawuisi, Benjamin Nwabugwu and Chidiebere Onwudiwe are facing criminal charges bordering on treason, mismanagement of an unlawful society and concealing of goods in a container.

Meanwhile, Nnamdi Kanu made serious allegations against President Muhammadu Buhari and the federal government on Wednesday, January 11. He also wondered why the government wanted to try him secret if it had nothing to hide.
