Six out of the seven North-West governors were reportedly absent at a zonal meeting held in Katsina by All Peoples Congress (APC) national vice-chairman for the North-West, Alhaji Inuwa Abdulkadir.
According to a report by Punch, Katsina state governor, Aminu Bello Masari was the only governor in attendance at the meeting on Sunday, January 29.
Governors of Kaduna, Kano, Jigawa, Sokoto, Kebbi and Zamfara states were all APC members were notably absent at the meeting.
There were reports that Kano state governor, Abdullahi Danguje, had visited Masari on Saturday to excuse himself from the meeting.

The organizers of the event denied that the governors were absent on purpose. They claim the governors weren't invited.
However, a source claimed that the governors’ decision to shun the meeting could be due to the crisis in the North-West.
The APC officials from the seven states were, however, in attendance at the meeting which commenced few minutes after 11 a.m. and retired to a closed session an hour later. The meeting was still on as of the time of filing this report.
Masari told the gathering that: "Katsina state is 100 per cent behind President Muhammadu Buhari.
“Our support, our loyalty to President Muhammadu Buhari in Katsina State is 100 per cent; be it in the state assembly; be it in the National Assembly; be it in the business community, we are 100 per cent loyal to President Buhari.”
Meanwhile, the Rivers state chapter of All Progressives Congress (APC) has raised an alarm over the killing of one of its members recently.
Mr Emmanuel Obuozo was assassinated at the early hours of Wednesday, January 25. He is from Obor community in Osomini area of Ogba/Egbema/Ndoni local government area.
The APC says the killing of Obuozo is one of the several assasinations of its members all over the state.
It was learnt the APC chieftain was killed at his home where the gunmen shot sporadically to scare the residents.
