Confirming the latest on the president on Tuesday, February 7, Senator Aliyu Sabi, spokesperson for the upper legislative chamber said the president did not specify when he would return.

“We are also in receipt of a second letter informing us that he is extending his vacation because in the course of the routine checkup, his doctors recommended more checkups,” Premium Times quoted him as saying.

He said the Senate would look at the letter when it resumes on February 21 and urged Nigerians to be patient with the government as it makes efforts to resolve the country’s challenges.

Since President Buhari left Nigeria on vacation, the vice president of the country, Professor Yemi Osinbajo, has carried on with governmental activities including holding Federal Executive Council (FEC) meetings.
