Their love has been an inspiration to many

Today Maryanne is 45 and Tommy is 59 and the couple love each other as strong as, or stronger, than when they got married to each other 22 years ago.

Maryanne said: “Tommy and I never argue. I love my husband very much. He is my best friend.”

Maryanne’s sister, Lindi Newman, set up a social media page for the couple. Their love has garnered thousands of followers on the internet.

Lindi recalls: “The day Maryanne met Tommy she came home with the biggest smile on her face. She couldn't stop talking about him and asked if he could come for dinner.”

Lindi adds: “My mum immediately said yes but wanted them to do it properly so took him to a jewelry shop to buy a proper ring. She received a lot of flak at the time for letting them get married but she insisted it was their decision.”
