PDP chieftain detained for allegedly criticising Governor Bello

For reportedly criticizing the governor of Kogi state, Yahaya Bello, a top member of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has allegedly been detained.

The Punch reports that Alhaji Abdulrahman Mohammed was allegedly arrested and detained on Friday, March 3 at the Kogi state Government House.

The report said his arrest and detention was carried out by Chief Superintendent of Police, Mohammed Sani Mohammed, Commanding Officer 37 Mopol Lokoja, the capital of the state.

According to Femi Falana (SAN), a human rights activist, the PDP member is still in detention.

Falana said he had reported the case to the relevant authorities.

At the time of this report, the state government had officially reacted.

Meanwhile, Senator Dino Melaye recently released a very long article detailing how about N1.5 billion was spent by Governor Bello on a staff verification exercise that allegedly died on arrival.

“Investigations have shown that over N1.3 billion was callously lavished on the staff verification and auditing exercise while N270 million was used just to write the report of the exercise that obviously seemed to have died on arrival,” Melaye said in the article.
