Osun state governor Rauf Aregbesola has knocked a social media user over wrong claims on how he spent the southwest state’s portion of the Paris Club refund.
Trouble started on Thursday, April 6 when a Twitter user @Princebob_ineh called out at the governor and vice president Yemi Osinbajo in a tweet in which he accused Aregbesola of using the refund he got for the wrong things.
NAIJ.com gathered that the Twitter user had mistakenly called the refund a loan and the governor wasted no time in setting him straight.
The ruling All Progressives Congress, Aregbesola's party retweeted the epic shade.
NAIJ.com recalls that Governor Aregbesola's government, on Tuesday, April 4, disclosed that it spent a total of N13.6bn to clear salaries, leave bonuses and pension arrears of four months.
This was disclosed by the Accountant-General of Osun state Akintayo Kolawole while speaking with newsmen at his office in Osogbo, Osun state capital.
Kolawole revealed how the state government expended the sum of N11,744,237,793.56 received from the federal government in November 2016 as first tranche of the Paris Club Refund.
