- Residents of Enugu city have carried out a protest against the Enugu Electricity Distribution Company (EEDC)

- The protesters have stormed the Enugu state House of Assembly, demanding that EEDC stops operations

The city of Enugu is in frenzy at the moment, this is as hundreds of protesters have taken over the premises of the Enugu State House of Assembly.

NAIJ.com have obtained information that the protesters are demanding the exit of the Enugu Electricity Distribution Company (EEDC).

Part of their grouses include outrageous billing, epileptic power supply, among others.

As at the time of filling this report, the protesters have occupied the Assembly complex, insisting that the State would no longer condone the activities of the EEDC.

Daily Post reports that they are asking the Federal Government to undertake a review of the privatization ‎of the power sector as the EEDC lacked the capacity to manage the distribution.
