Nigerian inventor Kehinde Durojaiye builds his own rocket car (photos, video)

Kehinde Durojaiye, a Nigerian and a self-taught inventor, has decided to create a jet car that can operate on land, sea and in the air as a way of reducing the heavy traffic synonymous to Lagos.

The aviator inventor is also referred to as Kenny Jet as a result of his remarkable ‘aero-amphibious jet car’ he is working on.

Living in Lagos could be straining when one considers the hours spent in traffic and how much could have been achieved within that time. Legit.ng discovered Kehinde Durojaiye for the first three years ago.

The 46-year-old inventor has tested his jet car and he says it can cover 120 kilometers per hour on land and at least six knots on the sea.

"I tested it in the sea and a lot of people were surprised it can move on the land and sea," he said. "That's one of those things that amazes people."

Durojaiye revealed he has traveled with the jet car as far as Ibadan; that is 84 miles away from Lagos. The brilliant invention is a beautiful creation when compared to the brands and models of cars in the society.

The aviator spends an appreciable amount of time of in his workshop located on a dump site close to the Lagos lagoon.

Legit.ng gathered that Kenny Jet is a married man with four children who has made four prototype cars from materials lying as wastes in the environment. The bulk of his invention comes from the use of materials like plastic, Styrofoam and wood. In creating his latest work, he made use of an office chair, a keyboard and a steering wheel gotten from a tricycle.

Durojaiye invests a lot of time in making the prototypes of the car, he is hopeful that one day the car would fly.

"We want the whole world to know it is possible to have a kind of machine that can move on land, on sea and fly and perhaps move under the sea," he explained. "That's my ultimate goal."
