- EFCC has mocked ICPC over anti-corruption war
- It described ICPC as an introvert
- But some twitter users said EFCC is only good at fighting corruption on social media
The Economic and Financial Crime Commission (EFCC) has mocked its sister anti-graft agency, the Independent Corrupt Practices Commission (ICPC) over the President Muhammadu Buhari’s war against corruption.
NAIJ.com reports that EFCC in its twitter handle @officialEFCC, described ICPC as an ‘introvert’ when it comes to fighting against corruption.
EFCC "@officialEFCC without wasting much time replied the user saying: "My sister @ICPC_PE is alive and well. She's an introvert but she gets her job done."
Recall that ICPC has become somewhat obsolete in Nigeria as far as fighting corruption is concerned and one would wonder if the agency is really alive.
However, some twitter users have reacted to EFCC’s comments on ICPC.
A twitter user, Nkechi Ugwoeje said he doubted whether ICPC has twitter handle or not.
He said: “Well, following the activeness of the Economic and Financial Crime Commission (EFCC) and especially their twitter "fun" handler, a worried twitter user asked if the ICPC was still active on twitter. “
Another twitter user, Anthony Okoji, said that EFCC only wins cases on social media, adding that wining cases on social media is its way of fighting corruption.
