Chibok girls: Charly Boy embarks on ‘one-man march’ to Aso Rock (photos)

Charles Oputa, popularly known as Charly Boy, on Monday, April 10, embarked on a one-man march to the Presidential Villa in Abuja in solidarity with the Bring Back Our Girls (BBOG) movement.

The BBOG is commemorating the third anniversary of the Chibok girls abduction.

Charly Boy embarked on ‘solo march’ to Aso Rock

NAIJ.com recalls that the dreaded Boko Haram invaded Government Girls Secondary School, Chibok in Borno state on April 14, 2014 and kidnapped no fewer than 276 girls.

The march was solidarity with the Bring Back Our Girls (BBOG) movement

As many as 57 of the kidnapped girls escaped almost immediately.

In May 2016, one of the girls identified as Amina Ali Nkeki was found. She was the first girl to be found after two years of their kidnap.

The march is also in commemoration of the third anniversary of the abduction of Chibok girls

In October, 21 Chibok girls were freed after negotiations with Boko Haram Islamist militants. They were freed in a deal brokered by the International Committee of the Red Cross and the Swiss government.

Charly Boy has called on the authorities to intensify efforts to bring back the Chibok girls

In four days time, it would be three years since they were abducted and about 195 girls are still unaccounted for.
