His words: “They (defectors) are trying to destroy the foundation of our party. We are not fools; those that decamped may make a U-turn one day and history will beckon on them.
“Besides, Nigeria’s democracy will never grow when people lack the discipline and political ideology to stick to their political commitment.”
In a related development, the APC has taken over the office of the PDP in Enugu state due to the recent defection of the state's former governor, Sullivan Chime to the party.
The building located at Chime lane, a street in the GRA part of the Enugu metropolis, had served as the secretariat of the PDP in Enugu state for several years before now.
The building which actually belongs to Chime, has now been adorned with flags, posters, banners and billboards of the APC.
Meanwhile, the Senate minority leader, Senator Godswill Akpabio, has chided the APC-led federal government for failing to deliver on the basic needs of Nigerians in the last two years.
The former governor of Akwa Ibom state, who stated this in a recent interview, said that rather than focus on how to fulfil its campaign promises to the Nigerian people, the ruling party spent two years blaming the PDP for its failure to perform.
