- Acting President Yemi Osinbajo says God has created men to build generations
- He noted that all fathers are leaders
- He also prayed for Nigerian fathers, asking God to bless them
Acting President Yemi Osinbajo has felicitated with Nigerian fathers on father's day celebration.
The acting president said the duty of men is to develop generations, citing an example Abraham from the bible.
Going further, Osinbajo who is also a pastor in the Redeemed Christian church of God prayed for men in the country, asking God to bless every father in Nigeria.
His full statement read: "As I reflected over what would be appropriate to share, it struck me that one of the perfect examples of fatherhood is Abraham.
"Every father is a leader of generations, a leader of nations, a progenitor of nations.
"God entrusted Abraham with developing a whole generation, a family, a nation of people who would do righteousness and justice.
"I think that really is the essence of our own call, especially as men, the essence of our call is that we are to develop a generation after us of men and women, boys and girls, who would do righteousness and justice.
"If we men did our duty, we would bring up a generation of young men and women who would be honest, trustworthy, faithful, loyal to good causes, young men and women, who would be just in their ways, who would make sacrifices for family, for community, for their nation. If we could do this as men, we would transform our nation.
"So I pray, that the Father of fathers, would bless each and every man. He will bless you and keep you. He will provide for you, and he will give you all that you require to build a generation of righteous men and women," he added.
Meanwhile, President Muhammadu Buhari has reportedly ordered some aides and minister seeking his approval on some files, asking them instead to meet with acting president, Professor Yemi Osinbajo.
The president who is on medical treatment in London duly handed over power to Osinbajo before he proceeded and has since maintained the standard protocol.
