“We have a representative in the federal executive council and we have someone who is working with the Acting President. But they are self-seekers who do not believe in the Ekiti project. They were the people, who during their four years reign here plunged our state into debt and destroyed the economy of the State. They made our State to be indebted till year 2036 by their maladministration.

The governor says the representatives of Ekiti state at the federal level have done nothing for the state

Meanwhile, the Ekiti state chapter of the APC has attacked Governor Ayodele Fayose after the latter declared his ambition to take over presidency seat in 2019.

The party insisted that Fayose's government is fraudulent and that he would dupe the people of his state by spending public money on his election. The party also accused him of lying about how much he got from the first tranche of Paris Club refund which are given out to governors to offset salaries they owe workers.

Reacting to Fayose's declaration, APC in a statement by its publicity secretary, Taiwo Olatunbosun, said it was now clear why Fayose put the state into N42b debts to pay salary, allowances, pensions and gratuity, including severance package of former political office holders.

He said Fayose allegedly diverted the money to projects that had no bearing to the welfare of Ekiti people.
