- Hamajulde reminds Atiku that the APC primaries defeat he suffered in the hands of Buhari in 2014 in Lagos will repeat itself come 2018
The All Progressives Congress (APC) has told former vice president, Atiku Abubakar, to forget about securing the party’s ticket for the next presidential election.
The Adamawa state branch of the APC made the statement shortly after a chairman of a political group, Northern Youth Leaders Forum, Elliot Afiyo, endorsed Atiku Abubakar and four others to run for the 2019 presidential race.
In reaction, the national president of Buhari/Osibanjo campaign organisation, Alhaji Yahaya Hamajulde, described the group’s position as a child's play, The Guardian reports.
Hamajulde told journalists in Yola on Thursday, June 22, that the APC has endorsed President Muhammadu Buhari and Vice-President Yemi Osinbajo for second in 2019.
The APC chieftain said that Buhari/Osibanjo ticket was ordained by God and advised those looking for political jobs through the next presidential election to turn to other ventures.

“God has already nominated Buhari and Osinbanjo for the 2019 presidency, so it is better for those that have the intention to contest for the office to turn their ambitions to other profitable ventures instead of wasting their resources, time and energy on an issue that God has settled,” he said.
Hamajulde who noted that the contest for the presidency is over, reminded Atiku that the APC primaries defeat he suffered in the hands of Buhari in 2014 in Lagos will repeat itself come 2018.
The president of Buhari/Osibanjo campaign organization pointed out that the achievement recorded by the Buhari’s administration within the last two years will make the presidential election an easy ride for the president.
Meanwhile, APC chieftains in Enugu have shunned a meeting organised by the leaders of the Integrity group camp of the party.
The group is mobilising support for the presidential bid of former Vice-President Atiku Abubakar, This Day reports.
NAIJ.com gathered that the group is led by the party’s Deputy Chairman, Adolphus Ude.
It was learnt that integrity group is working round the clock to ensure that they take control of party structures in the state.
