Osinbajo has demonstrated strong leadership — Atiku

- Atiku Abubakar says Osinbajo has given a good account of himself in running the affairs of Nigeria

- He however urged Muslims and all Nigerians to continue to pray for the quick recovery of President Buhari

Former Vice President, Atiku Abubakar, has released the scorecard of Acting President Professor Yemi Osinbajo as President Muhammadu Buhari’s medical vacation enters day 51.

According to Abubakar, Osinbajo has given a good account of himself in running the affairs of Nigeria, Daily Trust reports.

However, the former vice president urged Muslims and all Nigerians to continue to pray for the quick recovery of President Buhari, who is receiving medical treatment in the United Kingdom.

Atiku, in his Eid-el-Fitr‎ message on Monday, June 26, sent through his media office, said: “Professor Osinbajo has demonstrated strong leadership by moving fast to nip the recent tension in the country in the bud, which arose from the quit notice issued on the Igbo by a coalition of northern youth groups and the counter notices from groups from other regions.”

He also urged ‎Muslims to extend the lessons of the fasting period beyond the Ramadan and be good ambassadors of sacrifice and love.

President Buhari departed for London, UK for medical treatment shortly after he received the 82 released Chibok girls.

Before his departure, the president was rarely seen in public for a while fuelling speculation about his state of health.

He left the country on Sunday, May 7 after he met with the vice president, Professor Yemi Osinbajo, Senate president, Bukola Saraki and Speaker Yakubu Dogara.
