- Senator Buruji Kashamu has reacted to a comment made by Governor Ayo Fayose of Ekiti over President Buhari's medical trip
- Kashamu condemned the Ekiti state governor over the statement he made about the president’s health condition
- He said Fayose should fear God in all things he does
Senator Buruji Kashamu, the senator representing Ogun East Senatorial District, has blasted Governor Ayo Fayose of Ekiti state over his comment on President Muhammadu Buhari’s health condition.
In a statement made available to NAIJ.com in Lagos on Wednesday, June 28, Kashamu said it is wrong for people to play politics with the president's health.
The senator said: “Nigerians overwhelmingly elected President Buhari and if today he is having challenges, it is despicable for any reasonable person to play politics with it because nobody is above health challenges.
‘’It is unfair and condemnable for Fayose to continue playing God over the president’s health condition; his ridiculous comments are invariably heating up the polity and fanning the embers of disaffection amongst Nigerians.
“Are the people from the North not in support of the effectual acting president? Is the acting president not working with the structures that both he and President Buhari put in place?
‘’Are the National Assembly, the Federal Executive Council and the Council of State, which Fayose is a member of as a serving governor, not in total support of the activities of the acting president?
''If everything is going on well under the leadership of the highly respected and credible leadership of the acting president, who is Fayose to play to the gallery and thereby insulting the sensibility of Nigerians?”
He further described Fayose as a man who does not have priority in his official assignment and that is why he engaged himself in a matter that is of little concern to him.
Meanwhile, NAIJ.com earlier reported that Ekiti state governor, Ayodele Fayose, alleged that President Muhammadu Buhari has been on life-support since June 6, at a West-End, London Hospital.
The governor in a statement by Lere Olayinka, his special assistant, claimed that facts available to him shows that the president who not only has voice impairment, could not have spoken in Hausa to Nigerians on Ramadan day as claimed by the presidency.
Fayose added that the president is currently incapable of ruling the nation in his present health status.
