Reports reaching NAIJ.com has it that the federal secretariat building in Abuja is currently on fire.
The building housing the Federal Ministry of Health is the one caught in the blaze, according to a witness at the scene, Premium Times reports.
He also said fire fighters are at the scene trying to put out the inferno.
The cause of this fire outbreak is yet unknown.
Reacting to the report, the minister of health, Prof. Isaac Adewole, said there was no fire outbreak in the health ministry, but just a spark on the corridors of the third floor.
He said it has been put off and no part of the ministry was affected, The Punch reports.
Adewole said: “The report is false, there was just a spark in the corridors of the third floor and it has been put off. It was just an electrical spark that has been put off. No part of the ministry has been affected. No office was affected."
This comes a week after the House on the Rock church in Abuja caught fire in the afternoon of Sunday June 25.
Officials of Nigerian Fire Service arrived the scene with several truck battled to put off the fire which continued despite heavy rainfall.
