Police arrest 87 suspected members of Badoo cult group

- Police have arrested 87 cultists popularly known as Badoo in Ikorodu area of Lagos state

- The badoo members were said to have been responsible for all the number of criminality that have happened in the area

- The commissioners of police was said to have later met with Obas and traditional rulers after the arrest of the cultists

Lagos state police command has arrested 87 suspected members of Badoo cult group while declaring 20 others wanted.

The 87 suspected Badoo members were nabbed in their hideouts in Owutu and Odongunyan in Ikorodu area of the state in the late hours of Thursday, July 6.

As part of its investigation, Legit.ng gathered that the police declared the names of the wanted cult members as Moshood (a.k.a Mosho); Alfa (a.k.a King of Boys); Papa; Fela; Alakoto and Chukwudi.

Agbara; O/C; Femi (a.k.a FM); Pencil, Odidan; Jaru; Allen; Bush; Happiness; Fagbo; Junior; Nuru and Jamiu.

The command also called on Nigerians to support them with useful information on how the suspects can be arrested.

It was learnt that the police, department of state security service and Odua Peoples’ Congress (OPC) met with herbalists met together in the area.

Fatai Owoseni, the Lagos state police commissioner, who was represented by his deputy Imohimi Edgal in a meeting warned the herbalists and local vigilantes to avoided jungle justice.

The Police commissioners was said to have later met with Obas and traditional rulers in Ikorodu.

Also involved in the exercise were the Commander, Rapid Response Squad (RRS), ACP Olatunji Disu; Acting Area Commander, Ikorodu and all DPOs in Ikorodu among other senior police officers.

Meanwhile, Legit.ng had reported that Akinrinlade Ayodeji, a resident of Ikorodu area of Lagos state had narrated his near-death experience, after being mistaken as a member of the dreaded Badoo cult group.

Ayodeji said he narrowly escaped being lynched by a mob that mistook him a member of the Badoo cult which is said to have killed many people in the area.
