The Chief of the Air Staff, Air Marshal Sadique Abubakar, commissioned a liquid oxygen plant at Nigerian Air Force Base Yola on Monday, July 10.
According to the information provided, the commissioned plant has the capacity to produce 1000 litres of liquid oxygen every 8 hours, more than required for NAF operations.
This is expected to enhance the operation of the air force especially in its fight against terrorism.
He said: "The Chief of the Air Staff, Air Marshal Sadique Abubakar, is today commissioning a Liquid Oxygen plant at Nigerian Air Force Base Yola.
"The Liquid Oxygen (LOX) plant will enhance the operational capability of the NAF by ensuring steady supply of LOX for use by fighter pilots.
"Liquid Oxygen is critical for the survival of our fighter pilots especially during high altitude manoeuvres.
"The newly commissioned plant has the capacity to produce 1000 litres of Liquid Oxygen every 8 hours, more than required for NAF operations."

Meanwhile, NAIJ.com reported that three bombers lost their lives in an attempt to attack a hostel inside the University of Maiduguri on Thursday, July 6.
A source quoted in the report said that two of the bombers detonated their explosives inside the university, while one was gunned down by security operatives as he tried to escape.
Bashir Adam, a security man attached the university, confirmed the incident, saying it occurred around 11:30pm.
According to him, the attackers invaded the university through a perimeter fence.
He said security men moved in immediately they heard sounds of explosion and discovered a suspect trying to escape.
His words: “We first shot him on his hand and then we gunned him down on the fence while trying to scale through.
