The decampees were said to be from the five central senatorial axis in Okene.

The former PDP members were said to have been assured of fair treatment in the APC.

Honourable Siaka Musa, a former PDP Chairman in Okehi local government area of the state who led the decampees into the party, said their reason for defecting was for them to key into the viable New Direction Agenda spearheaded by the present administration in the state.

However, Dino Melaye, the embattled senator representing Kogi West kicked against the reported defection, claiming it was a fraud orchestrated by the state governor, Alhaji Yahaya Bello.

“This Yahaya Bello and 419 propaganda in Okene today. Spent 500million naira to divert attention. Rented crowd without party structure. Shame as our common patrimony is been wasted as our civil servants and pensioners die of hunger. God is not sleeping,” Dino Melaye stated.
