Aisha Buhari, wife of Nigeria’s President Muhammadu Buhari, has clarified the authenticity of the viral picture which was circulated over the weekend.
Speaking through her spokesman, Sulaiman Haruna, Mrs Buhari made it clear that the photo did not emanate from her office.
Haruna said the photos were released by Nigerian UK-based socialite and blogger named Aisha Alubankudi.
Alubankudi has large following on social media and was even in the picture circulated alongside President Buhari, his wife and minister of solid minerals, Mr Kayode Fayemi.
“The picture did not emanate from us. They belonged to her (Alubankudi) and she has responded (to appropriate authorities),” Haruna told Daily Post.
Haruna clarified that although the photographs were authentic and belonged to the blogger, they were however, not recent images.
Ms Alubankudi has however reacted to the report, even as she accused Daily Post of being mischievous.
She wrote on her Facebook page: “Daily Post, you are so mischievious and whoever fabricated such story will be ruined for life inshaa Allah.”
