Five ex-militants graduate from Law School, get called to Nigerian Bar
- Five former Niger-Delta militants were called to bar after graduating from a law school
- The repentant militants were sponsored to school under the Presidential Amnesty Programme
- They were full of appreciation for late President Umaru Musa Yar’Adua who provided the amnesty platform
Five ex-militants were among the 1,468 lawyers called to the Nigerian Bar by the Body of Benchers at the International Conference Centre, Abuja on July 13, 2017.
Legit.ng learnt that the lucky militants are Barrister Ajama Ebiwolatei Nimibofa, Barrister Iluyemi Timibra Ernest, Barrister Ogbemerun Adebanjo, Barrister Perekekeme Andrew Efe and Barrister Yanyangbini Eric Pere.
They were part of the militants who gave up their arms and were sent to school under the Presidential Amnesty Programme.

Barr. Yanyangbini Eric Pere, who spoke on behalf of his colleagues was full of appreciation for late President Umaru Musa Yar’Adua for providing the amnesty platform for youths in the region to be empowered educationally through the scholarship scheme.
He also thanked President Muhamandu Buhari and the Coordinator of the Amnesty Programme, Brigadier Genenral Paul Boroh for continuing with the programme.
He said that he and his colleagues will continue to be good ambassadors of the federal government and spread the success story of the programme.

Meanwhile, Legit.ng earlier reported that the special adviser to the president on Niger Delta, Brigadier-General Paul Boroh (rtd), said no fewer than 317 ex-agitators have graduated from different institutions in the U.S. and UK in 2017.
Boroh, who is also the coordinator of the Presidential Amnesty Programme, disclosed this in New York on Friday, July 14 when he visited Professor Tijjani Bande, Nigeria’s Ambassador/Special Representative to the UN and the Deputy Ambassador Samson Itegboje.
The presidential aide explained that the amnesty programme was managing the 30,000 ex-agitators from the Niger Delta region.
