Lagos LG poll: PDP is ready for the Nigerian people - Bode George

- Ex-deputy national chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Chief Olabode George, hs disclosed how party’s strategic alliance with the Labour Party will defeat APC

- According to him, PDP’s alliance with the Labour Party will yield positive results

- The PDP chieftain urged Lagosians to vote for Labour Party in the forth coming local government elections

The former deputy national chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Chief Bode George, has expressed confidence that the party’s strategic alliance with the Labour Party in the forth coming council polls will produce good results.

Legit.ng gathered that the PDP chieftain said in order to perform excellently, the party stepped up campaign and grassroots mobilisation after the Supreme Court judgment which favoured the Ahmed Makarfi-led National Caretaker Committee.

George on Wednesday, July 19, said: “My appeal now is to all our loyal members and all the electorate in Lagos State to please go out en masse and vote for our candidates under the Labour Party platform.

“This is the platform of truth and liberation. This is the platform that is people centered. This is the platform that cares about the weak, about the poor, about everyone else who wants a better and improved governance in our state of excellence.

“It is a wonderful time in the life of our great party. The PDP is back. Our long nightmare is over. The good Lord is on the side of the righteous. The truth is back on the saddle.

“We are ready for the Nigerian people. We are prepared to play the assertive role of responsible opposition. We are repositioning ourselves for the new challenges”.

Legit.ng previously reported that the chairman, Lagos State Independent Electoral Commission (LASIEC), Justice Ayotunde Phillips, said that results of elections into chairmanship and councillorship posts in the 57 local governments and local council development areas of Lagos state will be announced at the collation centres and ward collation centres respectively.

Justice Phillips made this known while speaking with some stakeholders on the preparations of the Commission for the elections.

She stressed that the commission would, however, monitor developments at the various collation centres and other locations in the state through reports sent to the Election Support Centre at the headquarters by field officers of the Commission.

The Lagos state government has announced the restriction of vehicular movement on Saturday, July 22, in view of the local government elections.
