- Phil Jones and Chris Smalling went with a back three and front two in their formation
- Smalling picked himself with Rio Ferdinand and Nemanja Vidic in the back three
- Both players selected David De Gea in goal and Wayne Rooney as one of their strikers
Phil Jones and Chris Smalling were asked to pick their greatest ever Manchester United Premier League XI with the latter making a very controversial decision.
Smalling put himself at centre-back in a back three system alongside Rio Ferdinand and Nemanja Vidic.
Jones would also go with a back three but picked Nemanja Vidic, Steve Bruce and Rio Ferdinand saying to his teammate: "Chris, I'm sorry mate but we're all coming out of here."
Smalling and Jones picked David de Gea who they described as "the best goalkeeper in the world."
When Juan Mata saw Smalling's selection of himself he said: "But this is a joke? It has to be a joke. Chris put himself? I'm going to take it off."
Jones then picked a midfield of Paul Scholes, Roy Keane, Michael Carrick with David Beckham and Ryan Giggs on the flanks.
Smalling also went with Scholes, Beckham, Giggs and Carrick but switched Roy Keane for Bryan Robson.
