Cristiano Ronaldo has taken to Instagram to reply those who have attacked him over his ongoing court case over allegations of tax fraud by Spanish authorities.

The Real Madrid star was in court on Monday July 31 were he told a judge that he was only being dragged to court because he was Cristiano Ronaldo.

Ronaldo has now taken to Instagram to attack his critics. He posted a picture in an illuminated room with the caption: "What bothers people is my brightness, insects only attack lamps that shine".

In June, a state prosecutor accused Ronaldo of four counts of tax fraud from 2011-14 worth 14.7 million euros (£13.1million, $16.5million).
