Stop provoking Igbos - Orji Kalu warns

- Former Abia state governor, Orji Uzor Kalu has condemned a provocative song against Igbo

- Kalu said the anti-Igbo song is another ploy to provoke Ndigbo

- He however declared that Igbo will remain peace loving and law abiding despite the provocation

Former Abia state governor, Orji Uzor Kalu has strongly moved against a provocative song about Ndigbo currently circulating in the country.

Kalu said Nigeria’s ethnic, religious, cultural and political diversity ‎should be seen as an advantage rather than a minus such as hate speeches, Daily Sun reports.

Legit.ng gathered that he however accused sponsors of the hate song, saying ''Nigeria has come to stay as a heterogeneous nation and no amount of hate campaign can break the country''.

Legit.ng gathered that Kalu made this known on Tuesday, August 8, at a meeting with a group of Igbo professionals in London.

He said: ''The anti-Igbo song is another ploy to provoke Ndigbo. However, despite all these nonsensical theatricals, Igbo will remain calm, peace loving and law abiding. We shall continue to resist all temptations as patriotic Nigerians.

''Nigeria is a diverse country of different ethnic groups, and no single tribe can lay claim to the country. We are all stakeholders, be it Yoruba, Igbo, Hausa, Tiv, Efik, Ijaw and many others.

''Igbos will continue to play a significant role in national well being, regardless of these provocations, especially in the areas of employment generation, wealth creation and industrialisation''.

Meanwhile, Legit.ng had reported that Kalu pleaded with Nigerians to stop criticizing President Buhari's led administration.

The former governor asks Nigerians to support the president for the sake of the desired change wanted by all.
