The House of Representatives has hit back at former President Olusegun Obasanjo for calling the latter corrupt.

The House, through its spokesperson, Abdulrazak Namdas, called Obasanjo the father of corruption in the country

Namdas, the chairman of the House committee on media and public affairs, said this in a statement to respond to a recent attack on the National Assembly by the former president.

Namdas said the reaction of the House was already captured in its earlier reply in 2016 that Obasanjo remained the grandfather of corruption in Nigeria.

He added that the National Assembly was used to attacks from Obasanjo

The reaction of the House followed Obasanjo’s comment in Minna, Niger state, to the effect that the constituency projects of the National Assembly was an avenue for corruption.

“We won’t respond to any corruption allegations by Obasanjo against us anymore.

“We have replied him enough and our position remains what we said earlier. It has not changed.
