The Democratic Youth Congress (DYC) on Monday, August 21, asked the Ekiti state governor, Ayodele Fayose, and a former Minister of Aviation, Femi Fani Kayode to express regret for all the wrong things that they have done to President Muhammadu Buhari.
Daily Trust reports that DYC declared that Fani Kayode and Fayose must apologize over their ''inglorious campaigns against President Buhari''.
NAIJ.com gathered that Kassim Kassim, national chairman made this known in Abuja while briefing newsmen on the state of the nation and the arrival of President Buhari.
Kassim also said it was unfortunate that the ailment of Buhari, being a natural occurrence that all humans could be subjected to, had been politicized.
He said: ''We, as Nigerian youths, must work tirelessly for the unity of this country. By so doing, we must resist any attempt to divide us by any means be it political, religious or ethnic.
''Similarly, we call on all Nigerians who engaged in unwholesome campaigns of calumny through their words or actions, aimed at wilfully misleading the Nigerian public, to seek forgiveness from God and an unreserved apology from Nigerians.
''The DYC had earlier condemned in totality, the uncomplimentary campaigns of calumny and malice by Governor Ayodele Fayose of Ekiti state, Femi Fani Kayode and their co-conspirators against the Nigerian state.
''They should hide their heads in shame; their politicization of the ill health of a fellow human being has exposed the moral bankruptcy in which the DYC is out to condemn in totality.
''We in DYC know that God, who brought President Buhari when our country was at the verge of collapse, will not leave his people without a worthy leader at such a critical point''.
He however commended Yemi Osinbajo, vice president for his astute leadership style that ensured continuity of the change agenda.
Meanwhile, NAIJ.com had reported that Fayose denied ever saying he would take his life if President Muhammadu Buhari returned to Nigeria alive.
