Nigeria's former military Head of State, Yakubu Gowon, has given reasons why he stopped foreign relief supplies to Biafrans after the war.
Gowon, shortly after the Biafran civil war said that right from beginning, Nigeria never took Igbos as enemies as Odumegwu Ojukwu had made the people to believe.
The former military head of state who also said that Biafran warlord abandoned the Igbos to suffer during the war, added that Igbos would be treated as equal citizens in Nigeria.
In a video recently obtained by NAIJ.com, Gowon while speaking on the fight to maintain Nigeria’s unity, gave reasons why Nigeria must remain united.

In a previous report by NAIJ.com, the south-east caucus in the senate met with Nnamdi Kanu, leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) over what they described as the rising tension in Nigeria.
Senator Enyinnaya Abaribe (Abia-South), on Wednesday, August 23, who disclosed that the meeting took place in Abia state, urged Kanu to conduct his members in a peaceful manner and within the ambit of the law.
