The Nigerian army has been accused by Nnamdi Kanu, the leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), of attempting to kill him because of his determination to actualize Biafra.
Kanu made his comments in a chat with the Daily Sun, as he reacted to the recent alleged invasion of his Umuahia home on Sunday, September 10, by soldiers.
The incident allegedly led to the death of some persons.
Narrating the episode, Kanu claimed that the soldiers shot sporadically into the air and that their aim was to take his life.
The IPOB leader stated that he had been alerted by one of his relatives to the presence of soldiers at the entrance to his family home, just as he was resting.
He stated: “The soldiers started shooting sporadically and in the process, wounded many people within the vicinity.
“Their action was a crude show of power on innocent and defenseless people of Biafra”.
Kanu stated that during the episode however, he urged his members to remain calm.
Meanwhile, NAIJ.com previously reported that the Nigerian Army released a video showing IPOB members attacking soldiers outside Nnamdi Kanu’s home.
