Osinbajo attends brother’s conferment ceremony as SAN

- The vice president, Yemi Osinbajo, has arrived at the Supreme Court to witness the conferment of the rank of the Senior Advocate of Nigeria on his brother

- Akinlolu Osinbajo is set to be conferred with the top senior legal rank, alongside 28 other lawyers

- Other political bigwigs are also present at the ceremony

Yemi Osinbajo, the vice president of Nigeria, has arrived at the Supreme Court to witness the conferment of the rank of the Senior Advocate of Nigeria (SAN) on his brother, Akinlolu Osinbajo, Vanguard reports.

Legit.ng gathers that alongside the vice president’s brother, 28 other legal luminaries including Festus Keyamo, are also set to be conferred as SANs.

Other dignitaries attending the event include Dr. Alex Ekwueme, former vice president; and Ike Ekweremadu, the deputy Senate president.

It was earlier reported that the federal government will swear in 29 of the 30 lawyers nominated as Senior Advocates of Nigeria (SAN).

One of the nominees, Oluwatoyin Bashorun, was excluded over a petition against her. Bashorun is currently being investigated over allegation against her conduct.

Meanwhile, Legit.ng previously reported that Akinlolu Osinbajo, the younger brother of Nigeria’s vice president, Professor Yemi Osinbajo, dished out family secrets.

Akin was the attorney general and commissioner for justice in Ogun state between 2003 and 2011.

He spoke about how their father brought them up on the principles of integrity, about their childhood, and about the marriage of the vice president to Awolowo’s grand-daughter.
