IPOB has written letters to many countries alleging Nigeria perpetrates genocide - FG

- Lai Mohammed, the minister of information and culture, has disclosed the move made by the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) against Nigerian government

- Mohammed said IPOB has written petition letters to many countries that Muslims are being persecuted by Christians in Nigeria

- He, however, said the government has known the countries that support the group

The federal government disclosed that the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) has written petition letters to many countries telling them that Nigeria is a country where there is genocide.

According to Vanguard, Lai Mohammed, the minister of information and culture made this known on Tuesday, September 18, during ''Good Morning Nigeria'' programme on the Nigeria Television Authority (NTA).

NAIJ.com gathered that Mohammed also said the countries has been hoodwinked by IPOB into believing that ''Nigeria is a country where Muslims persecute Christians''.

He said: ''As we speak today, IPOB has written letters to many governments outside Nigeria, international parliaments sending fake and cloned videos claiming there is genocide in Nigeria.

''Terrorists do not publish where their funding are coming from. But we know the countries that are supporting IPOB.

''We know the sources of their funding though I am not at liberty to disclose them here. “We are taking steps to block them and we are also taking a lot of diplomatic actions in respect of the countries that are supporting them''.

Meanwhile, NAIJ.com had reported that the minister said agitation for Biafra was being sponsored by treasury looters and those who are politically disgruntled.
