Police arrest kidnappers operating on Abuja-Kaduna expressway, confiscate various weapons

- Several kidnappers who have launched operations on the Abuja-Kaduna expressway have been arrested by officers of the Nigeria Police Force

- The police also confiscated various weapons including many rifles and other gun models from the suspects

- The alleged criminals were paraded at the Jere police station along Abuja-Kaduna road

Officers of the Nigeria Police Force have arrested several kidnappers who specialize in carrying out operations along the Abuja-Kaduna expressway.

The development was made public by the head of the police Intelligence Response Team (IRT), Abba Kyari.

Legit.ng notes that Kyari disclosed via his Facebook page, that the operations that led to the successful arrests of the suspects were carried out by the IRT and police special forces, who were deployed by the inspector general of police, Ibrahim Idris.

Various weapons including many rifles and other gun models, were also confiscated by the police when the suspects were arrested.

The alleged criminals were paraded at the Jere police station along Abuja-kaduna road on Thursday, September 21.

Meanwhile, Legit.ng previously reported that a suspected kidnappers den operated by alleged militants was uncovered by men of the Nigerian army following a raid to rescue two soldiers who were abducted by gunmen.

The rescue operation was carried out by soldiers attached to the Joint Military Task Force in the Niger Delta code-named Operation Delta Safe (OPDS).
