- Dr Junaid Mohammed said he was not surprised the APC refused to implement the 2014 confab report
- The former lawmaker said it was rigged
- He said some of the recommendations were not agreed on
Dr Junaid Mohammed who is a second republic lawmaker has said that he is not surprised that President Muhammadu Buhari has not implemented the national conference report.
According to the lawmaker who was a delegate at the conference in 2014, the confab was doomed from the beginning.
Garba Shehu who is the senior special adviser to President Buhari on media and publicity had said that the confab was inconclusive and in reaction, Mohammed said the confab was rigged.
He said: “Garba Shehu is too insignificant for me to start arguing with but I can confirm that the outcome of the Confab was also rigged because some of the recommendations made after the Confab were not agreed on.
“Issues like that of State Police and many others were never agreed on at the Confab yet it is contained in the recommendation.
“I believe it is within the rights of President Buhari’s government to refuse to implement the outcome of the 2014 Confab.”

He said he was not surprised by the stance of the presidency because “from day one, the All Progressives Congress, APC, dissociated itself and they never sent anyone to the conference.
“APC also maintained that if they win the elections, they will not implement the report of the Confab. So I am not surprised at their unwillingness to implement the report.”
NAIJ.com had earlier reported that the outlawed Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) group was described as an ‘Igbo project’ which is financed by Igbos, by Mohammed.
In a chat with The Guardian, Mohammed insisted that IPOB was a terrorist movement and stated that whether the southeast governors supported President Buhari's decision to proscribe the group or not, the decision was final.
