The meeting between Ibe Kachikwu, minister of state for petroleum and President Buhari is scheduled for Friday, October 6 and not today (Thursday) as earlier reported.
Premium Times had earlier quoted a presidency source but a review of the president’s official schedule shows the meeting is set for Friday at 11 am.
NAIJ.com earlier reported that barely two days after leak of his letter to the press, minister of state for petroleum, Ibe Kachikwu, will meet President Muhammadu Buhari at the presidential villa.
Kachikwu had sent a memo to the president, complaining about insubordination and alleged corruption by the Group Managing Director of the NNPC, Maikanti Baru.
The minister also urged President Buhari to take urgent action to save the NNPC amid a N9 trillion contract scam allegedly involving Baru.
According to him, the corruption in the NNPC is capable of hindering progress in the country’s petroleum sector or even reverse recorded strides.
