Ahmed Makarfi, the chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party national caretaker committee said Ayodele Fayose, the Ekiti state governor, went against PDP’s convention that zoned Presidency to the north.
Senator Makarfi said the present campaign mounted by Governor Fayose for the 2019 Presidency is not in compliance with the position of the party.
Reports have it that the chairman of the party made this known while addressing journalists in Kaduna.
He said: ''He (Fayose) is on his own. What he is doing is not in compliance with the position of the party. The party’s position has not changed.
''The convention has zoned the presidency to the North and the chairmanship of the party to the South.''

Makarfi also dismissed some speculations that Atiku Abubakar, the former vice president, may be given an automatic ticket to contest the same position on the platform of the PDP if he finally decides to join the party before the election.
Meanwhile, NAIJ.com had reported that the party might have settled for Makarfi as its presidential flag bearer for 2019 election.
