The Ondo state government has urged residents of the state not to panic, following the confession of a Boko Haram suspect, Mohammed Bashir, that members of the terror group had infiltrated the state, New Telegraph reports.
Yemi Olowolabi, the state’s commissioner for information and orientation, assured the state’s residents of safety.
NAIJ.com gathers that speaking on behalf of the state governor, Rotimi Akeredolu, Olowolabi assured the residents that there was no cause for alarm, as the security agencies were prepared to prevent any breach of security.
According to Olowolabi, the fact that the terror suspect had been apprehended before he had a chance to carry out attacks, showed that the security agencies were alert and adequately prepared to handle security situations in the state.
The commissioner urged residents to go about their daily activities without fear.

The apprehended suspect further disclosed that more members of the terror sect were in the south-west state.
