Angry man blasts Buhari for appointing Aishah Ahmad as CBN deputy governor

- A Nigerian man has called out President Buhari over the recent appointment of the deputy governor of CBN

- The man argued that the new CBN deputy governor, Aishah Ahmad is not a good representative of Islam

- He claimed Ahmad's appointment is a disservice to other Muslims

A Nigerian man, Abubakar Usman Almajiri, has called out President Muhammadu Buhari over the appointment of Aishah Ahmad as the new deputy governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN).

Almajiri, on his Facebook page, claimed that the appointment of Ahmad is a disservice to Muslims because he does not consider her a true ambassador of Islam.

He accused the president of being a 'liberal' Muslim who has no objection to shaking women's hands at functions.

Almajiri, who seems to be ignorant of the fact that the CBN appointment is in fact a federal appointment which is based on merit and especially the qualifications of the appointee, and not religion, said he expected the president to have chosen a 'better Muslim'.

Almajiri's unpopular opinion has generated a lot of heated discussion on his post, as many strive to educate the young man on the irrelevance of religion in federal appointment.

Recall that NAIJ.com reported that Aishah Ahmad, whose appointment was approved by President Buhari and sent to the Senate, is a 40-year-old woman with impressive qualifications.

Prior to her appointment as the deputy governor of CBN, she functioned as the executive director (retail banking) at Diamond Bank Plc.

The 40-year-old has been actively involved in banking at the top level for most part of the last 20 years.
