Four teenage bombers have reportedly lost their lives in a failed attempt to wreak havoc on Maiduguri, Borno state capital on Wednesday, October 11.
The suspected Boko Haram bombers who are females stormed Ummarari general area on the outskirts of Maiduguri and detonated their IEDs simultaneously at 8:23pm last night, Sahara Reporters reports.
An eyewitness claimed that all the bombers were teens and wore new set of clothes to avoid detection.
"we were at our duty place, suddenly we heard a very loud explosion, I quickly climb the fence while on the fence I put on the touch light and spotted three of them standing behind the fence so I raised alarm; then second bomber blew up herself.
"The third also attacked the deserted mosque in Ummarari, there no civilian casualties, however, state emergency management agency team came to evacuate the bodies of the bombers early morning on Thursday.
Meanwhile, NAIJ.com had reported that the theatre commander, Operation Lafiya Dole, Major-General Ibrahim Attahiru on Wednesday, October 11, said the army killed 15 Boko Haram terrorists in Gwoza on Tuesday, October 10.
NAIJ.com gathered that Attahiru made the revelation during a press briefing at the operation’s headquarters in Maiduguri, the Borno state capital.

He said the terrorists ambushed troops in Gwoza and the above number of insurgents fell to soldiers’ bullets during a gunfight.
