Vent your anger, agitations through your votes - Osita Chidoka tells Anambra people

- The former minister of aviation has urged the people of Anambra to vote the United Progressive Party (UPP) in the gubernatorial election

- Osita Chidoka said electing UPP at the Anambra gubernatorial poll is a positive step towards achieving their aspiration as a people

- He also urged the people to support the UPP as it champions its self-determination ideology in Nigeria

The former minister of aviation and flag bearer of the United Progressive Party (UPP) in the forthcoming Anambra gubernatorial election, Osita Chidoka, has said his party would cling the governorship seat in the state.

Chidoka while receiving a delegation of christian leaders and Anambra youths in his hometown in Obosi said electing UPP at the Anambra gubernatorial poll is a positive step towards achieving their aspiration as a people.

The former minister also called on the people to support the UPP as it champions its self-determination ideology in Nigeria.

Chidoka urged the people of Anambra to vent their anger, agitation and aspirations through their votes.

He said: “I commend ndi Anambra for identifying with the UPP. The UPP is that one party that understands and stands with the people in their aspiration. It is the only party that has chosen the idea of self-determination as an intrinsic right of Nigerians to determine by choice, their residency and their citizenship.

“By voting for the UPP, Ndi Anambra would have with one loud voice, voted for the referendum. A vote for the UPP will be a vote that says to the whole country, this is the Nigeria we want and that message will not be lost on Nigeria.

“If we fail to vote, then we betray and put ourselves inside the lock and key of those who marginalize and repress us: those who give us operation python dance and those who relegate us as mere 5%," Chidoka said.

The former minister noted that most people fail to vote because they believe their votes do not count.

Chidoka said the mandate of the people of Anambra will prevail in the November 18 election.

“In this election, all votes will definitely count. We will ensure that INEC kept its promise to use electronic transmission of results directly from the polling centers. By that, only the will of the people as expressed in the ballot will determine the outcome of the election," he said.

He further urged the people especially the youths in Anambra to use the election to determine the future of the state by enthroning a government that best represents their interest which he now embodies as the candidate of the UPP

Also speaking, the leader of the delegation Venerable Dr. Oswald Ezekwere, the Archdeacon of Obosi Anglican Archdeaconry said the group visited the former minister to encourage and pray with him.

Ezekwere also led the group in praying for God’s guidance, strength and grace on the UPP candidate ahead of the gubernatorial election.

NAIJ.com earlier reported that Chidoka had said that the people of Anambra deserve better governance than what they have now.

Chidoka said the people of Anambra people must work towards electing a governor with proven character and experience in public service.

He also decried the high rate of unemployment in the local government areas in the state.
