NAIJ.com gathered that a prisoner being remanded at the Kuje prison in Abuja was spotted via CCTV camera while shopping outside the prison yard.
Following earlier reports that Ifeanyi Ezenwa was caught masterminding several frauds despite being in prison, it doesn't look he is willing to stay out of trouble.
The Kuje inmate was seen shopping somewhere outside the walls of the prison, and is suspected to be colluding with prison officials in order to get some time away from where he is serving out his sentence.
He was said to have been escorted out of the prison by warders as he claimed to be going for medicals at the National Hospital.
While visiting the orthopedic store opposite the hospital, Ezenwa reportedly pulled off another scam where he is alleged to have defrauded them of two wheelchairs and the sum of N50,000. He was spotted on the CCTV camera, wearing a red cap and holding a walking stick, he also paid cash for his purchase.
Reports claim he called the store the very next day and while identifying himself as a chief who lived outside the country, ordered two wheelchairs, two blood pressure machines and 'paid for them' with a fake bank alert with an extra N50,000.

He later sent some of his boys to pick up his purchase and also collect back the N50,000 he 'mistakenly paid extra'. The accomplice who picked the items was later arrested and he took security operatives to the store where they examined the CCTV footage.
Ezenwa also reportedly made Elizade Motors hand over a vehicle which his accomplice identified as Dalhatu Yahaya (photo bottom left), sold off for about N9 million.
Lagos state assistant commissioner of police, Abba Kyari, revealed the fraudster's moves in an investigation report by the IRT, saying that fresh charges would be brought against him and investigations were ongoing to reveal the identities of the prison officials who aided him.
