Omokri faults reinstatement Abdulrasheed Maina into civil service

A former presidential aide, Reno Omokri, has reacted to the reinstatement of ex-head of the presidential task force on pension reforms, Abdulrasheed Maina into the civil service, with promotion, despite being wanted for alleged corruption.

Reno Omokri in a post on Facebook on, Monday, October 23, queried if Maina donated to the All Progressives Congress (APC) campaign.

He also questioned if President Muhammadu Buhari recalled Maina and made him head of human resources in the internal affairs ministry for the purpose of recruiting more looters for his reelection.

Omokri faulted the administration for blaming the head of service for reinstating Maina.

He said the integrity President Buhari had been questioned after the Babachir, NNPC and now Maina episodes.

Meanwhile, a report by Premium Times indicates that the EFCC has begun a manhunt for the former head of the Presidential Task Force on pension reforms, Abdulrasheed Maina.

Maina was sacked from the federal civil service in 2013 and was in 2015 placed on the wanted list of INTERPOL by the EFCC.

The EFCC's move is as a result of media reports on Friday, October 20, which indicated that Maina had been secretly reinstated to the civil service, with promotion, despite being wanted for alleged corruption.

Maina was issued a letter of reinstatement dated Monday, October 2, by the Office of the Head of Service of the Federation.

The letter claimed that Maina’s case was reviewed and that a decision was taken that he be reinstated.
