Uche Jombo married life

In the summer of 2012, Uche Jombo became Uche Jombo Rodriguez during a private wedding ceremony in Puerto Rico. The actress married an American man of Puerto Rican descent by the name of Kenney Rodriguez. According to one of her interviews, Uche Jombo and Kenney Rodriguez had been dating for less than a year before they decided to tie the knot.
We were able to gather that Kenney used to work as a nutritionist and personal trainer in his home state of New York. He received a degree in General Business at the Excelsior College, Albany, New York, as well as numerous certificates in personal training. He is a CEO and founder of Roddrix Personal Training.
On May 27, 2015, Uche Jombo son, Matthew Rodriguez was born. Prior to that, his parents held a lavish baby shower party, where most of Uche’s friends and family members were able to congratulate the pair on the upcoming addition to their family.
When asked about how hard it must have been to live on different continents with her husband, Uche admitted that, in fact, she spent most of her time in America with Kenney. She only had to come to Nigeria to shoot her movies.
For the first few years of their marriage, Uche used to share snippets of her private life on her social media. She was not the kind of person that kept things quiet and hidden from the public eye. Everyone knew about her family, as she often posted pictures of her husband and child on her Instagram.
But things changed, and not for the better.
Rumours about Uche Jombo's husband
In July 2017, the peace of Uche’s marriage was shaken by the discreditable photos of Kenney Rodrigues hanging out with a 22-year-old girl by the name of Teresa. Allegedly, Kenney was meeting with his ex behind his wife’s back (an in their shared home, too!), while she was away on shoots.
The photos had been leaked by someone close to the Jombo-Rodriguez family, and soon every media outlet talked about it. Some gossip websites even claimed that the married couple had split, albeit on friendly terms.
To that, Uche took to her social media and loudly berated Nigerian bloggers for spreading fake news about her marriage. However, it was hard to understand from her rant whether she meant that the photos were fake, or that she left her husband.
But wait, there is more:
A few days after the scandal blew up, two curious things happened. First, an almost empty Instagram account claiming to be her husband's, Kenney Rodriguez posted a picture with a long apology for ‘the foolishness and speculation’ in the media. Notice that the apology said nothing about cheating.
Second, a close friend of Uche’s, Omoni Oboli, posted a picture of Uche and Kenney, who were supposedly going on vacation to Canada. She tagged the Kenney account on the picture.
You might be wondering:
What is so weird about it? Well, the thing is, many fans have suspected that that account was fake. They claimed that Uche herself made the account and apologised to herself, while her friend tried to make the account more believable by interacting with it. We cannot say whether the claims were true or not, but the account was deleted soon after.
What is happening to Uche Jombo marriage?
As of now, the storm seems to have settled. One of the reasons for that might be the fact that, a few months ago, Uche decided to stop oversharing on social media and removed all the photos or mentions of both her husband (if he could still be considered her husband) and son. She thanked her fans for understanding and vowed not to post anything personal ever again.
If you want to be the first to know if anything changes in Uche’s life, be sure to follow her on Twitter, Instagram and Facebook (@uchejombo). You can also visit her website uchejombotv.com. Who knows, maybe she will soon lift her embargo on personal pictures. Until then, we will have to wait and see.
As you might have noticed, Uche Jombo’s married life has been rocky at best. That is what you get for being one of the most famous actresses in Nollywood. We hope that she has been able to resolve the differences with her husband, and that Uche Jombo child would not have to suffer from a very loud divorce. Let’s pray that it has all ended well.
