Lagos police arrest 4 Air Force personnel for vandalising water pipe

- The Lagos state police paraded four new recruits of the Nigerian Air Force (NAF) and seven others for vandalising water pipes worth about N25 million

- Edgal Imohimi, the commissioner of police, said the Air Force personnel will be handed over to their commanding officer while other suspects will be charged to court

- Imohimi also said the Air Force men would be brought back to the police for prosecution after they would have been disciplined by their office

The police in Lagos on Monday, October 23, announced the arrest of four Air Force men and seven others for allegedly vandalising Lagos state water iron pipes valued at about N25 million.

Edgal Imohimi, the state commissioner of police, confirmed the arrest while presenting the men and other suspects arrested in the last two weeks in the state.

Edgal said that the suspects that wore military camouflage were arrested at Doyin Bus stop, Orile area, where they allegedly vandalised the public utility, News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports.

He said one Clerk crane and Iveco G3 truck with Reg. no. MUS 772 XD were recovered from them.

According to him, “The Air Force personnel will be handed over to their Commanding Officer, while other suspects will be charged to court.

“The air force men would be brought back to the police for prosecution after they would have been disciplined by their office.''

The commissioner also presented three other suspects who specialised in duping and making rituals for unsuspecting citizens within Lekki Phase 11, Ajah environs.

The commissioner said the suspects would be charged to court “soon”. A total of 21 suspects of various crimes were presented at the occasion.

Meanwhile, Legit.ng had reported the death of Group Captain Adamu Gabriel Ochai, an experienced Air Force pilot who died in a plane crash.

The pilot was said to have been the only pilot on board when the plane crashed.
