Ondo Poll: ‘Expose Election Riggers’

Peoples Democratic Party’s candidate for the October 20 Ondo State, Chief Olusola Oke, has urged the Independent National Electoral Commission, the police, the State Security Service and the military to rise up to their constitutional responsibilities be apprehending election riggers.

Oke said this during the PDP’s rally at iju/ Itaogbolu on Wednesday.

He urged INEC to expose any party and its officials who engage in voter cards cloning, saying only a free and fair election could sustain the nation’s democracy

Oke expressed his dissapointment by desperation of some of the candidates for the poll.

He asked the people of Akure North Local Government to vote for him, promising that the resources of the state would be judiciously used.

He also promised that his agriculture policy would boost farming and make funds available to the farmers.

He said, “We will cut all these unwanted allocation of resources to 500 Special Advisers and retinue of aides paraded by the current administration. We will run an efficient and value driven administration that will create wealth for the state and increase productivity.

“Many of the problems that pushed this government into unnecessary borrowing is its inability to match fund with responsibilities so as to attain efficiency and create value.

“One of the reasons why development has eluded us is the inability of the Mimiko administration to keep overhead cost far above capital expenditure. Rather he has unnecessarily created a mega cabinet with less productivity. It is a problem that must be addressed.”

Oke cautioned politicians against violence before and during the election. He urged them to engage the youth and speak against any act of thuggery and violence before, during and after the election.

He said those planning to cause trouble and rig the election would be exposed by God.
