The 4-1 defeat to Liverpool on Saturday appeared to have been the final straw for joint-chairmen David Gold and David Sullivan, who decided to finally pull the trigger less than 48 hours later.

Speaking instantly after being sacked on his way out of the training ground, Bilic was brutally honest in his response, saying that he holds nothing against West Ham for their decision.

“I’m sad and disappointed, but not in the club, I expected it to be fair,” he said to Sky Sports News on Monday [12:02pm], just an hour after the news was confirmed by the club.

He added: “No hard feelings.”

“When the time goes by I’ll be very proud of my work here.”

Bilic spent just under two-and-a-half years as West Ham manager, leading them to the Europa League in his first season.

However it was a change of home from Upton Park to the London Stadium that seemed to spark the downfall of the Irons under Bilic, who really struggled at home, and Saturday evening’s defeat in East London to Liverpool proved to be the point of no return.

The Hammers have confirmed that they are looking to replace Bilic within the coming days, with ex-Everton boss David Moyes widely linked in the media to being placed in the hotseat.

Bilic won 30 of his 86 Premier League games in charge of the Hammers.

NAIJ.com reported earlier that West Ham have announced the sack of manager Slaven Bilic having seen his side drop to the Premier League relegation zone.
