The people of Anambra will vehemently resist APC rigging plot - APGA warns Buhari

- The All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) has spoken on the forthcoming Anambra governorship election

- APGA urged President Buhari to use his good office to ward off any electoral malpractice

- The party, however, said the election will determine whether Nigeria will remain as one

The All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) on Tuesday, November 7, called on President Muhammadu Buhari to ensure that Anambra election is free and fair.

APGA said President Buhari must stop Kaduna state governor, Nasir El-Rufai; his Imo counterpart, Rochas Okorocha and ex-Abia governor, Orji Kalu, from attempting to rig the election.

According to a report, the party alleged that the APC chieftains have printed sensitive materials of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) ahead of the poll, Vanguard reports.

In a statement signed by Evang Chinedu Obigwe, the APGA national coordinator on media, the party said the election will determine whether Nigeria will remain one.

The statement read: "I call on President Muhammadu Buhari to use his good office to nip this evil plot in the bud because failure to do so, his much cherished Nigeria unity will be destroyed.

"APGA is like a religion in Anambra state, thus the reason why the people of the state are satisfied with Governor Willie Obiano’s good work in the state perhaps again the reason why they are supporting his merited second term re-election bid.

"The frequent visits of El-Rufai, Rochas Okorocha and Orji Uzor Kalu, to Anambra state I believe have something to do with this rigging plot to favor Tony Nwoye.

"The people of Anambra state will ensure that no stone will be left unturned in checkmating and vehemently resisting APC rigging plot.

"This election will determine if Nigeria will remain one because no reasonable human being will like to be in a Country where the people’s democratic rights are trampled upon."
